Banff Mountain Film Festival

On Sunday evening, Half Moon Outfitters hosted the Banff Mountain Film Festival in Savannah. I had never been to a film festival catering to extreme sports, so I was quite excited about it.

The films shown ranged from “snow surfers” in Japan, to white water kayakers, to mountain bikers, to a round trip trek to the south pole, to free climbing, to a silly video of a Norwegian ice skating and jumping into a frozen lake!

It was a great festival that has showings around the world. If you get a chance to go, I would definitely recommend it!

Below are a few links to excerpts and/or trailers from some of my favorite films that were screened that evening.

Here is a short excerpt from “Crossing the Ice”. It is a film about two friends who make an epic journey across Antarctica.

“Flow Hunters” is a short film about white water kayaking through New Zealand!

The next trailer is “Strength in Numbers”, the mountain biking film.
